We live in a world of noise, echo chambers, and opinions. We were raised to save face, to play it safe, to follow the system. But I know—and you know—that eventually…the facade fades. The bill comes due. We’re tired of the pretense. Manipulative narratives. False gods. False wisdom. Fake gold. Fake news.

What we want, I believe, is the truth, even when we can't handle it. The real, even when the fake is comfortable. Not buzzword-authenticity. Or transparency with an agenda. Or well-meaning but misplaced trigger warnings. Or another “vulnerable” moment. We want real depth. Real love. Real pain. Real joy. Real hope. So what we need is less chatter and more honesty. What we need is the courage to dig deep, and the humility to embrace what we discover, no matter where the rabbit hole takes us. I'm striving to find and live in my truth, no matter the cost. Are you?

In most circles I go by Benji. At home, Bj or Ade (pronounced Ah-day). I was born in the Bronx and raised in Harlem, New York. In Lagos, Nigeria. Arlington & Fort Worth, Gambier, Catonsville, Copenhagen, & Elkridge.

I am a poet, a writer, a musician, instigator, knight, analyst, and a dark-skinned temple of the Most High, among other things. Welcome to my journey to becoming what I was always meant to be.

I write only because
There is a voice within me
That will not be still.
— Sylvia Plath
