#PoemADay No.65: I. Don't. Care.

Ask me if I’m wasting my purpose here
and I’ll tell you
I don't care about upholding the U.S. Constitution.
I care about making the Constitution something worth upholding.
I don't care about protecting the American people.
I care about transforming them.

I definitely don't care to "do good work for a living".
I'd rather work to create a good life
that works
for me
and makes life better for everyone else
in the process.

I have already spent too much time working.
That’s not my purpose. God put us here to love.
And when you love what you do,
everything else takes care of itself.

I am impatient.
I refuse to work now so I can live later.
If I'm not already living,
but words are coming out of my mouth,
I'm already dead,
I'm just a zombie,
which means you should kill me.
And again.
And again.
Until I stay dead
or choose to wake up and live.
I'm cool with either option,
long as I get
my freedom.
